About TodaysPedia
We help people find a better alternative to the websites they rely on, and understand exactly what changes when they switch.

What TodaysPedia is
TodaysPedia is an independent directory of “sites like” guides. Each guide takes one website, named by its address such as example.com, explains what that site does well and where it falls short, and compares it side by side with the alternatives worth switching to.
Most “sites like X” pages are long lists generated by software: dozens of names, the same copied description on every page and no opinion about which one you should pick. We take the opposite approach. We publish fewer guides, each one written for its own site, and every guide ends with a clear recommendation for each kind of user.
What you'll find in every guide
- A quick answer: the best alternative for each common need, before you read a word more.
- The site at a glance: domain age, authority scores and estimated search traffic, dated.
- The site itself, explained: what it does best, where it frustrates people and who should stay.
- Charts and diagrams: how the site works, how it makes money and how it measures up, shown rather than described.
- A side-by-side table: every option compared on the criteria that matter for that kind of website.
- A verdict for each alternative: “choose it if” and “skip it if”, in plain words.
- Answers to common questions, and the date the guide was last checked.
What we believe
Suitable beats similar
Two services can share a category and still serve different people. We say who each one is for.
Trade-offs are information
Every switch costs something. Naming the cost is more useful than hiding it.
Rankings are not for sale
No company can pay to be included, ranked higher or described more kindly.
Dates matter
Services change constantly, so every guide shows when it was last updated.
Who writes the guides
Guides are researched, written and edited by the TodaysPedia Editorial Team. Facts about each service are checked against its own documentation, pricing pages and published policies, supported by reputable reporting, and every guide is edited before it goes live. Our review method sets out how alternatives are chosen and compared, and our editorial policy sets out the rules that keep us independent.
How we're funded
TodaysPedia is free to read and is supported by display advertising. Ads are labelled, kept apart from our recommendations and chosen by the ad network, not by us. We don't use affiliate links in our guides, so we earn nothing extra when you choose one service over another.

Questions about TodaysPedia
Is TodaysPedia connected to the websites it covers?
No. TodaysPedia is independent. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or paid by any of the services we write about, and no company can pay to be included or ranked.
Where do the traffic and authority figures come from?
They are estimates from third-party data providers, refreshed when a guide is updated. They are useful for comparing sites with each other, but they are not official numbers from the companies. Our disclaimer explains their limits.
How often are guides updated?
Every guide is reviewed at least twice a year, and sooner when a service changes its pricing, ownership, privacy policy or main features. The date at the top of each guide shows its last update.
Can I ask for a website to be covered?
Yes. Suggestions from readers help decide which guides we write next. Send the website address through our contact page and tell us what you would like it compared on.
