What modern1furniture.com sells
Modern1furniture.com belongs to MIG Furniture, a store with a showroom at 1950 McDonald Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, trading online since at least 2007. It sells modern, contemporary and art deco furniture for every room: sofas and sectionals, dining sets, bedrooms, office desks, bar units, lighting, rugs and bathroom vanities.
Most of the stock is imported. The brand list runs to dozens of makers, mainly from Italy and Spain, with others from Finland, Canada and the US. Big names include Cattelan Italia, ALF Group, Tomasella and Natuzzi Editions, the line from the Italian sofa maker Natuzzi. The company says it holds exclusive US distribution for Gruppo Spar’s kitchens and living ranges.

How buying from modern1furniture.com works
Every customer gets one sales associate who handles design, ordering and delivery, so the same person tracks the order from first visit to install. That matters for the categories the store specialises in, because a wall unit or a kitchen has to be measured and configured, not just picked from a page. Delivery is free across the New York City area.
What modern1furniture.com costs
Prices are listed online, usually with a discount shown against a higher original price. On a recent visit a contemporary dining table by Chintaly started at $259, an ALF Group bedroom set was $1,479, a Tomasella wall unit was $5,399, and a Gorini Italian sectional reached $8,999. A sales section holds stock items and floor samples for buyers who want something faster or cheaper.
Drawbacks of modern1furniture.com
- One showroom. Outside New York you are buying from photos, and the free delivery offer stops at the city area.
- Lead times. Imported, configured pieces are made to order, so ask for a delivery date before paying.
- A crowded catalogue. Dozens of brands and near-identical product names make comparison slow without the associate’s help.
Who modern1furniture.com suits
Shop at modern1furniture.com if you live in or near New York and want an Italian wall unit, a kids’ bedroom set or a full kitchen with one person managing the job. Look elsewhere if you need furniture quickly, live far from Brooklyn, or would rather buy a single designer brand from its own store.

Four furniture stores to weigh against it
Modani
Best for: Contemporary sofas and beds you can get soon
Modani sells its own modern designs through showrooms in several US cities and online, with fast delivery on in-stock items, white-glove delivery as an option and a five-year protection plan. Sofas on its site start around $899 and few pass $2,700, so it costs less than imported Italian brands, with a free designer consultation service on top.
Roche Bobois
Best for: Designer sofas with a recognisable name
Roche Bobois is a French furniture house with showrooms in many countries. Its collections are credited to named designers, such as the Mah Jong modular sofa by Hans Hopfer, and seasonal events cut prices. A Quick Ship service delivers selected in-stock pieces within three weeks.
Furnitalia
Best for: European furniture and kitchens in California
Furnitalia runs a 50,000 sq ft showroom on Auburn Boulevard in Sacramento, plus an outlet in Folsom, and sells European furniture, Stressless recliners and kitchen cabinets. It also offers interior design, remodelling and home staging. It is the closest West Coast match to a Brooklyn store that mixes imported furniture with kitchen work.
Rove Concepts
Best for: Buying online with member pricing
Rove Concepts designs its own furniture in Vancouver and sells online, with flat-rate $159 shipping and 30-day returns. A $250 yearly membership adds a sitewide discount and a voucher toward a later order, which pays off on a large purchase. There is no showroom, so fabric and comfort are judged from samples and reviews.
